Marcus Blaze kicked off his quest for 61 kilogram gold in style.

“Blaze opened up his 61kg bracket with a quick technical fall over Switzerland’s Sandro Hungerbueler and then advanced via disqualification over U20 European champion Sargis Begoyan of Armenia,” USA Wrestling writes. “Begoyan was cautioned three times for unnecessary hands to the face and blows to the head. Blaze punched through to the semifinals with an 11-1 win over Askat Toktomatov of Kyrgyzstan. He’ll face UWW athlete Magomedkhan Magamedkhanov later on Tuesday.”
