The Runnin’ Utes and new head coach Alex Jensen have their first verbal commitment for the 2026 recruiting class.
On Tuesday, guard Styles Clemmons announced his pledge to the University of Utah program.
Who is Styles Clemmons?
Clemmons is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound guard from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Though Clemmons currently doesn’t have a recruit ranking, according to 247 Sports, the recruiting service says he also held offers from Mississippi State and Oklahoma State among his other scholarship offers.
Clemmons played this past season for City Reapers in the Overtime Elite academy program. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.3 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game during the regular season, before upping those averages to 6.4 points, 4.0 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game during the playoffs.
Two players on this year’s Utah roster — forward Jahki Howard and guard Elijah “Choppa” Moore — are also Overtime Elite alums.
Clemmons explained why he chose Utah in a video shared by Overtime Elite.
“The coaching staff, it just felt genuine, just felt like a family type of program. We had dinner with the head coach and his wife and his family. Everything just felt right,” Clemmons said in the video. “The love just felt right. You know when something feels right.”
