These no-sew buttons make my jeans fit perfectly, and they're down to $6 for 12

As someone who shops for a living (and a hobby), I love buying new fashion — except for jeans. I would honestly rather pull my own teeth than go shopping for another pair of jeans. Why? Because my waist is smaller than my hips, so I can never find a pair that doesn't give me the dreaded, uncomfortable back-waist gap without being too tight on my upper thighs. Normally, I'd just suck it up and pay a tailor to take them in an inch or two. Well, until I discovered the craftiest solution: loose jean button pins — specifically, this 12-pack that's only $6 at Amazon.

The set includes a variety of colors, so you can easily match them to your pants.

Why is this a good deal? 💰

First, they're more than 30% off. Beyond the stellar discount, they'll help you save so much money on new jeans, tailoring or both. While new denim is always fun, a high-quality pair of jeans can be pricey. (Oh, and if you break it down, each button only costs 50 cents. When's the last time you got anything for 50 cents?)

Why do I need this? 🤔

We can all agree that wearing clothing that actually fits your body and all of its curves makes you feel good — like the hottest person in the room, even. Whether your jeans gap in the back like mine, you've recently lost weight or you deal with bloating (I feel you), these buttons are the easiest, most affordable way for your denim to mold to your body. And now you don't have to throw out your favorite pair of well-worn jeans.

Don't be stressed — they're so easy to use. Just detach the back like you would an earring, push the pin into the waistband and re-attach the back. Then zip up and button your pants with the new button like normal. Boom, a new pair of jeans, sans a needle and thread. I've even used one to fully replace a button that popped off a beloved pair of pants.

While I've had no problem eyeballing where to attach the pin, if you want to be more precise, you can use a measuring tape to measure your waist and the waistband of the chosen jeans, then mark it to find the perfect spot.

What reviewers say 💬

I'm not the only one taking advantage of these money-saving buttons — over 3,000 Amazon customers have given them a five-star review. In fact, more than 6,000 customers have bought them in the past month.

Pros 👍

"Great to use for jeans that are a bit loose," shared this thrifty Amazon shopper. "Easy to attach and remove, and stays put all day and even through the wash until you decide to remove it."

"Having recently lost a lot of weight, I was left with many pairs of pants that I was reluctant to part with," wrote a second customer. "These buttons are exactly what I needed. I also used some to adjust the length of sleeves on jackets and shirts."

"I use these all the time and they're so easy to use and super sturdy," explained one five-star reviewer. "Can't even tell that they aren't the button [that's] supposed to be on the jeans, I would buy these over and over again."

This final shopper uses these to replace broken buttons, no sewing required. "What a great product," they wrote. "They work really well. If an old button comes apart, this is the perfect solution."

Cons 👎

While shoppers are generally fans of the buttons, this five-star reviewer notes that "once you have it attached, it's very difficult to get off so make sure you have them placed exactly where you want." I completely agree — it's the only downside to them being so sturdy and durable.

Another shopper who called them the "best invention ever" added: "Depending on how much you are cinching up in the waist, there is an overlap with the zipper." They also mentioned that these work best for taking in waistbands around 1 to 2 inches.

I've only used these to adjust my jeans, but they're good for basically anything that has buttons, from skirts to jackets. You do you!
