Manchester City are set to kick off their 2025/26 Premier League campaign with their opening match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 16, at Molineux Stadium.
While the commencement of their new season is just moments away, doubts over the future of some in Pep Guardiola’s squad prevail. One such name is Man City’s first-choice goalkeeper, Ederson, who has been ruled out of their first league game of the season.
Ederson’s situation at the Etihad has been very blurry, with the Brazilian star earlier claiming that he wants to continue at Man City. However, repeated speculations of him making a move away from the English club have also surfaced.
Now, ahead of the upcoming match, Guardiola has shared his thoughts on Ederson and his future at Man City.
What did Pep Guardiola say about Ederson’s future at Man City?
While speaking to the press, Guardiola addressed Ederson’s situation, mentioning that the shot-stopper has not communicated a desire to leave Man City, and said,
“Ederson didn't come to me and said he wanted to leave or he has an offer. All the players here are our players and I want them. What's going to happen in three weeks, nobody knows,” as per GOAL.

Ederson has been heavily linked with a move to Turkish club Galatasaray, especially after recent reports claimed that Man City are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain outcast Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Ederson, who arrived at Man City from Benfica in 2017, has maintained 168 clean sheets in 372 appearances, and his current contract at the Etihad is valid till next summer.
