The Oklahoma City Thunder are coming off a dominant season that saw them finish with the best record in the NBA en route to winning the championship.

Of course, the Thunder have built arguably the best young roster in the NBA led by their star trio of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren.

This trio was able to lead the Thunder to a historic season that they were able to cap off with the franchise’s first championship since relocating to Oklahoma City.

With the Thunder’s star trio taking over last season and leading the franchise to a title, Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz recently named them as the top big three in the NBA.

“The youngest Big 3 on this list is also the NBA’s best, which should be terrifying for the rest of the league. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren average less than 25 years in age, yet between them stamped a championship, MVP, two All-Star appearances, a pair of All-NBA teams and an All-Defensive team on their resumes all in the last calendar year,” Swartz wrote. “Of course, the three were properly rewarded with a whopping $822 million in new contracts and extensions this offseason. Given their collective ages, it’s scary how good this group can become, especially now that all are under contract with the Thunder for the next six years.”

Swartz makes a great point about how Oklahoma City’s star trio should terrify the rest of the league, especially after the Thunder locked them in for the next six seasons after signing all three to max contract extensions this summer.

For Shai, he is coming off a historic season that saw him win the MVP award over Nikola Jokic after leading the league in scoring.

Williams is also coming off an impressive season that saw him be named an All-Star for the first time as well as making his first All-NBA and All-Defensive teams.

For Holmgren, while he did was not an All-Star or All-NBA selection due to missing a ton of time with injuries, the young big man starred for Oklahoma City during their title run.

Of course, the Thunder have built a dominant roster with their star trio leading the way and they are likely set to be a contender for many years to come as they try to begin a dynasty.
