Official: FC Metz signs Senegalese wonderkid

The Metz club welcomes another young talent from the Senegalese academy Génération Foot.

Moustapha Diop now dons the Metz colors. The 20-year-old Senegalese center-back joins FC Metz on September 16, 2025, arriving from Génération Foot. He has signed a four-year contract that will keep him with the Lorraine club until June 2029.

The young defender lands in Moselle after facing some administrative hurdles that delayed his arrival. These issues pushed his signing back by a week after the official closure of the summer transfer window in France. Moustapha Diop will first join the Metz academy, where he will train daily alongside the reserve team led by Abasse Ba.
