It is really nice to score just three minutes into a match. Even better when the lead is 2-0 at just 10 minutes. So, when Bayern Munich did all that and led Hamburg 4-0 at halftime in their Bundesliga clash, everyone knew there would be no more difficulties for the Bavarians in this match, which ultimately ended 5-0.

Vincent Kompany then had the chance to rest a few players.

Manuel Neuer addressed all of this after the match.

“We were focused from the first minute. We scored some great goals, like Serge’s. We stayed focused the entire game and wanted to keep a clean sheet,” Bayern’s number 1 said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “It was also important to go 4-0 up at the break so we can rest some players, as we had international games and many players travelled long distances.”

Neuer was of course not one of them but will have watched plenty of his teammates rack up the miles in arduous trips. An easy win such as this one makes such difficulties less of a bother, though.

Bayern Munich returned to action in the Bundesliga by hosting Hamburger SV and just crushed the visitors.

The Bavarians took home a 5-0 victory in a game that was never close. Bayern Munich was dominant from the outset and wasted little time in giving Hamburg a not so friendly welcome back to Germany’s top flight.
