Labor Day sales 2025: Everything we know, plus early deals you can shop as we speak

Labor Day weekend is just around the corner, marking the unofficial end of summer (nooo!). But as shopping editors, we like to think of it as the start of a season of savings events that'll take us right through the holidays (yay!). If you enjoy scoring stellar deals as much as we do, you can get in on the action early, thanks to a slew of Labor Day sales that are live as we speak.

Of course, there's a lot happening this time of year, like back-to-school and last-minute summer vacations, so it can feel overwhelming trying to hunt down Labor Day deals that are worth your time. But have no fear: Our trusty team of Yahoo shopping experts is here to help. Here's what you need to know about the upcoming Labor Day savings events, plus some sales you can shop now.

When do Labor Day sales start?

Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 1, which means the holiday weekend officially starts Saturday, Aug. 30. You can expect savings to kick in well before the weekend, anywhere from a few days to a few weeks before, depending on the retailer. We're already seeing some major markdowns!

What will be on sale for Labor Day?

If it's anything like the last several years, a lot! We'll reiterate some great advice we received from shopping expert Andrea Woroch: "Long holiday weekends like Labor Day represent a good time to buy big-ticket items like mattresses and furniture. ... Retailers selling these items are looking to maximize sales and know shoppers are more likely to browse and buy if there's a deal available." So, if you're looking to save big bucks on big buys, now is a great time.

You'll also be able to snag sweet deals on items like summer clothes (to save for next year!), appliances, school and desk supplies, electronics and more. Plus, if you've yet to upgrade your outdoor space, there's no time like end-of-summer sales to make the most of every dollar while building out your barbecue, patio or porch. After all, you should be able to enjoy a cozy outdoor fire pit well into October.

What to expect from retailers this Labor Day weekend

We anticipate a ton of Labor Day deals at a variety of retailers, including usual suspects like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kohl's and more. Wayfair is always a good spot to check for deals on home goods, and we wouldn't be surprised if clothing and accessories retailers like Nordstrom, Macy's, JCPenney, Old Navy, Zappos, Coach Outlet and more have massive markdowns. Outdoor enthusiasts shouldn't forget to take a peek at REI and The North Face.

Early Labor Day sales

There are still a couple of weeks to go until Labor Day weekend, but why not whet your savings appetite with these already-live mega markdowns?

Time to ditch the dreaded string: This gentle yet effective gum de-gunker allows you to feel the sparkle every day, thanks to its pressurized water-flossing technology. It's loved by dentists and shoppers alike (more than 100,000 at Amazon) and promises to get your teeth clean and gums flossed — even those hard-to-reach back teeth.

At 40% off, this is one of the best prices we've seen all year; it rarely dips lower outside of Prime Day and Black Friday.

If you want to set yourself up for success ahead of a late-summer trip, invest in this thoughtfully designed travel bag. It's spacious enough for a tablet, a passport, some snacks, sunglasses, an eye mask and any other essentials you'll need to make your journey more comfortable, but it's not so massive that you have to worry about getting weighed down. The adjustable strap can be worn on the shoulder or crossbody-style. It's tough enough to withstand being bumped and tossed around, thanks to coated canvas that won't scratch or scuff easily.

Another reason to add this versatile bag to your collection? It's available in three neutral colors that will complement everything in your closet, and it's an insane 81% off. Choose from brown, black and creamy white.

If you've been holding off on buying AirPods until there's a sale, consider this the time to pounce. Yes, they were 10 bucks cheaper during Prime Day, but at $99, you'll pay $30 less than you would at the Apple Store — and they're unlikely to dip lower anytime soon.

Now, they don't include active noise cancellation like these, but if it's a high-quality, comfortable listening experience you're after, these earbuds more than deliver. With up to five hours of listening time per charge (and 30 hours of battery life via the charging case), you'll be able to enjoy music, podcasts, audiobooks and more with limited interruption.

We were already fans of the original Bissell Little Green for its stubborn stain-busting abilities, but we're really excited about this newer 7-pound mini model. It tackles the same jobs as its larger sibling, only schlepping it around just got even easier — plus, this version is cordless.

This set comes with the Little Green, a 4-inch tough-stain tool, a HydroRinse self-cleaning hose tool and a trial-size bottle of cleaning formula — and it's down to a record-low price.

Need a new sleep surface, but would prefer to stay under the $1,000 mark? We've got you (or, rather, Casper's got you). The brand's wildly popular medium-firm mattress is made of three foam layers to support your body without feeling too rigid, and the open-cell material keeps things from getting too stuffy at night.

At $200 off, this is one of the best mattress deals on the web if it's quality bedding for a reasonable price that you're after — it's only dipped lower by $50 in the past, and rarely.

These No. 1 bestsellers are favorites of Amazon shoppers, and Yahoo readers can't stop scooping them up, either. After having heard nothing but raves about them for years, Senior Deals Writer Britt Ross finally bought a pair to see what all the hype was about. Fair warning: She says they come vacuum-sealed, so when you first see them, you'll think, There's no way these will be comfortable. But give 'em a few hours, and they fluff up beautifully.

She writes, "I was impressed by how soft yet supportive they feel, and was pleased to find that their breathable construction kept me from waking up with sweaty hair. Now I want to replace every pillow in my house with these — especially while they're on rare sale (and for their lowest price of 2025.)"

Psst: Another Yahoo writer also swears by them — check out her full Beckham Hotel Collection Bed Pillows review for more.

Apple products are so sought after that they don't really need to go on sale, and when they do, it's often because they're older models. But this is the latest version of this iPad, which makes this markdown extra special.

According to Senior Deals Writer Chris McGraw, who specializes in all things tech, "It's an ultra-light, thin tablet that's powerful enough to replace your laptop for most tasks but slips into your bag without a second thought. With a large 11-inch Liquid Retina display, you're swiping and scrolling in vibrant color and sharpness that makes any screen that came before feel like an old tube TV.

"If you've got a habit of toggling between a dozen apps, streaming videos and replying to messages at once, you're in for a treat. This iPad is ready to keep up with whatever you throw its way. And if you're into gaming, the graphics capabilities mean you can play even demanding games without dropping a frame."

This comprehensive kit is the most popular tooth-whitening treatment on Amazon due to its pro-level, smile-brightening effects. The pack comes with 22 treatments, with one upper and one lower strip for each sesh. With the new "advanced seal technology," these strips no longer slip, so you can drink water and even talk while using them. Just peel a strip off, apply it over your teeth, leave it for about 30-45 minutes and voila! You'll start to notice a whiter smile in as little as three days, with the full effect in about 20.

This is the lowest price we've seen all year — yes, even during Prime Day — so our advice? Stock up!

This bestseller is over 60% off, and if that isn't enough of a deal, keep in mind that it's also a multitasker. With the lid on, it's a coffee table by day; take the cover off, and this baby offers warmth and ambience after the sun sets.

The fire is powered by a small propane tank, and external controls adjust the flame height and intensity. It comes with lava rocks for added nighttime drama and a cover for when the party's over.
