Yesterday was one of the craziest in-season days the Tennessee Titans have had in a long time. It started with Brian Callahan announcing he is handing over play-calling duties to quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree, and ended with the announcement that they were trading Jarvis Brownlee to the New York Jets for a terrible return. We have yet to hear what exactly Brownlee did to get to the point where the Titans felt like they had to get him out of here, but there was obviously something. I’d love for it to come out so we can evaluate whether or not they made the right call.
- Jordan Schultz tells us that the New England Patriots were also interested in Brownlee:
- Seems like with at least two teams interested, the Titans could have gotten a better return. Maybe Amy Adams-Strunk told them they weren’t allowed to send him to the Patriots. Can you imagine if Brownlee were traded to the Patriots and then came here in three weeks and had an interception? Amy would have burned the new stadium to the ground.
- In case you thought it was Callahan’s idea to give up play-calling, his buddy Easton Freeze assures us it was not:
- It will be interesting to see if there is a noticeable difference this week with Hardegree calling the plays.
