Before I head out for the day to make the trek to South Bend I wanted to make sure to give you all the details about how to watch this afternoon’s game against the Fighting Irish. You’ll recall that last year these two teams met and it did not do well for Purdue. Notre Dame made their way to the CFP before ultimately losing in the championship game to the Ohio State Buckeyes. This season has obviously gone a little differently than the Irish faithful had expected as they’ve dropped their first two games of the season, granted to very good competition, but just on paper the remaining schedule gets easier for them as there is only one additional team in their final 10 games that is currently ranked. That of course could change, but would a 10-2 Notre Dame get in the playoff field? I have to think so. First though? They’ve got to get past a Purdue team that is probably still stinging from the embarrassing loss from last season. Sure, most of that team is gone but that score and game have probably been mentioned a time or two this week by the coaching staff and by those players that remain. Purdue looking to win the Shillelagh trophy back from the Irish. So, let’s make it happen!
