Eduardo Camavinga price tag revealed as Real Madrid makes transfer stance clear

Real Madrid are preparing for a new La Liga campaign with questions already surrounding their midfield, and one of their brightest young players has unfortunately suffered another injury at a time when the squad is already stretched.

Eduardo Camavinga suffered a sprain to his right ankle during training, and the club confirmed the diagnosis on August 10 through its medical staff.

“Following tests conducted on Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid Medical Services, the player has been diagnosed with a sprain to his right ankle,” Madrid said in an official statement.

It is his fifth injury in the last year, a run that limited him to only 19 league appearances last season.

His absence is compounded by the long-term injury to Jude Bellingham, who underwent shoulder surgery last month and is not expected back until October.

Those losses come after Luka Modric’s departure to AC Milan, leaving Real with fewer reliable midfield options.

The club have strengthened in other areas, adding Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Álvaro Carreras and Franco Mastantuono, yet they have not added a central midfielder in this transfer window, which has increased the sense of reliance on Camavinga when he is fit.

The attention now turns to his place in the market and the club’s stance on his future.

Will Real Madrid sell Eduardo Camavinga

According to Defensa Central, intermediaries who approached Madrid this summer were told in no uncertain terms that Camavinga would not be considered for transfer unless an offer above €80m [$93m] arrived.

No such bid has been made and the club has stood firm with its valuation.

Manager Xabi Alonso reportedly strongly favours the midfielder’s qualities, particularly his range and physical drive that can carry the team forward from deep positions and he remains confident that Camavinga will rediscover his form once he returns to fitness.

Madrid open their La Liga campaign on August 19 against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu, and while the Frenchman will not be ready, the club is determined to keep him at the center of its plans.
