It took a late Moises Caicedo stunner to make Chelsea believe they had actually won this game. However, Brentford then replied straight away after they managed to bundle a long throw in into the Chelsea net and get a share of the points come the end.
Alejandro Garnacho has taken a lot of the blame for the goal for ‘being asleep’ when the throw comes in and really, he should have done a lot more to try and prevent the goal, I don’t think anyone can deny that.
But attentions now turn to the Champions League this week as Chelsea prepare to take on German giants Bayern Munich in their first game back in the competition tomorrow night.
Bayern believe they have the edge

Nicolas Jackson holds up a Bayern shirt ahead of his move.
Obviously we all know the story with Nicolas Jackson joining Bayern from Chelsea on loan on transfer deadline day this summer, and surprisingly he is eligible to play tomorrow as well.
Bayern’s director believes Jackson can give them the edge over Chelsea.
Eberl on Jackson’s inside knowledge
As cited on X, Max Eberl says Bayern will benefit from Nicolas Jackson’s inside knowledge of Chelsea: “I’m sure Vinnie and the coaching staff will ask him. There are always certain processes that you might still see in the analysis. What signals do they have? What do these signals mean? I certainly believe the coaching staff will make use of this advantage.”
