Boris Becker believes that the domminance of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner isn't a particular good sign for men's tennis.
"Indeed, Alcaraz and Sinner are clearly dominating the rest of the players at the moment. I don't really understand why that is. Every player has to take a look at themselves and improve," the six-time Grand Slam winner told dpa in an interview.
Alcaraz and Sinner have faced each other in the last three Grand Slams finals and lead the world rankings by a large margin. This year, Sinner won the Australian Open and Wimbledon, while Alcaraz took the French Open and the US Open.
According to Becker, one player that could pose a threat to the two is world number three Alexander Zverev.
"Personally, I would very much like him to win a Grand Slam one day or regularly win major tournaments, because I respect him a lot and it's good for our business," Becker said on Thursday on the sidelines of the presentation of his book "Inside. Winning - Losing - Starting over."
"I hope he finds his top form again in the fall and qualifies for the ATP Finals."
