Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has said he is "not happy" that the club is yet to register new goalkeeper Joan Garcia and forward Marcus Rashford little over 24 hours before the start of their La Liga title defence.

Cash-strapped Barca still hope for positive news before their Saturday evening match at Mallorca but last year also didn't have new signing Dani Olmo available due to the strict financial rules.

"You can imagine that I'm not happy about that, but I know the situation and I believe in the club," Flick told a news conference on Friday.

"We have to wait till tomorrow [Saturday]. I think it was the same situation last season also. We just focus on what we can change, what we have in our hands and as for the other things, I believe in the club."

Garcia should be registered now that former number one Marc-André ter Stegen is confirmed as a long-term injury after back surgery which had led to an initial row between club and player. That allows the club to spend 80% of his salary on a replacement.

Flick named Garcia "a fantastic keeper" who is to be the new number one at the club.

Flick won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup in his first season, and starts his second in a confident mood, even though star striker Robert Lewandowski is a doubt with a muscular injury for Saturday.

"Winning three titles last year is not the end, it’s the continuation. We’ll give everything again this season,” he said.

Flick also insisted that Barca was not only about teenage sensation and Ballon d'Or contender Lamine Yamal.

“The most important thing is to win as a team" he said. "I don’t care how many goals he scores, what matters is winning together," Flick said.
