The San Francisco Giants head back to California today to begin a four-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Taking the mound for the Giants will be right-hander Logan Webb, who enters tonight’s game with a 3.34 ERA, 2.71 FIP, with 206 strikeouts to 43 walks in 188.2 innings pitched. His last start was in the Giants’ 13-7 loss to the Dodgers on Saturday, in which he allowed six runs on 10 hits with five strikeouts and two walks in four innings.
He’ll be facing off against Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who enters tonight’s game with a 2.66 ERA, 2.96 FIP, with 187 strikeouts to 51 walks in 162.1 innings pitched. His last start was in the Dodgers’ 5-1 loss to the Giants last Friday, in which he allowed just one run on one hit, with 10 strikeouts and a walk.
Honestly, this dude might have some of the worst luck in baseball at the moment. Because the Dodgers lost that game on a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning (which is great for us!), and then his last start before that he was one out away from a no-hitter and then he gave up a home run and the Dodgers went on to lose that game. For our sake, I hope that trend continues tonight!
