Mike Santana is on the road to Bound For Glory to face Trick Williams for the TNA World Championship. Now, his path is blocked by a goon from the WWE universe. Santana was ambushed by Ridge Holland on Impact (Sept. 18, 2025).

Santana demolished his competition with a discus lariat for an easy squash win.

Afterward, Santana talked trash to hype his upcoming world title bout. Boom! Holland pulled a goon move to hammer Santana from behind. Holland sent a statement with a cradle DDT and stood tall with noogie fingers high.

Holland has spent time back and forth between NXT and WWE in his career. He is currently moonlighting on the Evolve brand. TNA commentary referred to Holland as coming from NXT to keep that interpromotional story brewing.

Santana has an open date for TNA Victory Road on September 26, so there is a good chance that he wrestles Holland for that special event.

In regard to Bound For Glory, there is an asterisk attached to the world title bout. NXT booked Oba Femi versus Trick Williams in NXT title versus TNA title winner take all next week. That authority overreach has put TNA into a tizzy for the disrespect. Being that this episode of Impact was previously taped, we weren’t able to hear any reaction from Santana. TNA did air a video package summarizing the events from NXT this week.

From Santana’s perspective, it doesn’t matter who he wrestles for the TNA world title at Bound For Glory. Santana is confident that he will win the gold.
