Football is back as the WPIAL 2025 High School Football season will get underway this Friday night.

Western Pennsylvania is always filled with Power 4 recruits and that’s certainly the case when you look at various grade levels.

One of the more intriguing young talents in the Pittsburgh area is a sophomore quarterback from Hopewell High School in Beaver County.

James Armstrong (6’3″, 215-pounds) opened up some eyes last season as he started for the Vikings and combined for 2,131 yards and 25 touchdowns.

That performance put Armstrong on the Power 4 scene, in fact, he earned an offer from Pat Narduzzi and Pitt following the season. During the offseason, Armstrong heard from programs such as Penn State, Rutgers, Duke, Stanford and Michigan State.

There’s a good chance that list of Power 4 offers will increase throughout this upcoming season.

With Anthony Smith‘s future in the WPIAL uncertain, Armstrong is arguably the top sophomore quarterback in the WPIAL and one of the tops in the entire state.

This afternoon, PSN had the chance to talk with him about this upcoming season, his goals, his future and a lot more.
