When Donnarumma returns to Paris… but not on the pitch!

Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma returns today, Monday, to the French capital. But this time, it won’t be on PSG’s turf that he makes his comeback, but rather to attend the prestigious Ballon d’Or ceremony at the Théâtre du Châtelet. The 26-year-old shot-stopper’s departure from PSG came after failed negotiations to extend his contract. He then joined Manchester City, signing a deal through 2030.According to L'Équipe, Donnarumma will be in Paris tonight to compete for the Yachine Trophy, which honors the best goalkeeper of the year. The "Italian national team goalkeeper" is among the main favorites to claim this prize this season, following his decisive role in PSG’s haul of five trophies: Ligue 1, Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions, the Champions League, and the UEFA Super Cup.It’s worth noting that Argentine keeper Emiliano Martínez won the Yachine Trophy last year, after leading Argentina to Copa América 2024 glory and starring for Aston Villa.
