Chelsea agreed a deal for Estevao Willian a full year ago now, so fans have had more than enough time to get excited.

Usually we’d be warning people to not get their hopes up too much when signing a raw teenager from abroad, but in this case, the wonderkid is actually exceeding the expectations of even the most hopeful fans with his form.

Estevao puts in another world class performance in win

Palmeiras have continued to use him consistently in the year he’s stayed there, and his performances have just got better and better. Last night was a joke. In a Copa do Brasil game against Ceara, the winger got two goals, an assist and was (understandably) man of the match as the Big Green swept aside their opposition.

They know they have just a few games left with him – in less than a month, he will have joined up with Enzo Maresca’s squad at the Club World Cup, and after a 12 month wait, we finally get to see him in Blue. On this evidence we can’ wait – and there shouldn’t be too much of a wait for him to get up to speed.

Watch out Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke, this kid is coming for your job…

What Chelsea can expect from Estevao skillset

The highlights show what he’s all about – a nice mix of flair and dangerous dribbling with really productive actions in front of goal.

Those long willowy legs give him an almost elastic dribbling quality, but he’s also a powerful upright runner. Watching the Ceara defenders try to watch him in full flight was painful. The penalty he won was from a moment of pure panic from the left back who had been roasted repeatedly.
