Virgil van Dijk's spoken out following Liverpool’s 4 - 2 defeat to AC Milan in friendly match held in Hong Kong highlighting both the positives and the lessons learned.
Tough Result , But Bigger Purpose
The Dutch defender who started the game before being subbed off in the 2nd half, admitted:
"Nobody wants to lose, that’s obvious. But the pre season isn’t just about results. Seeing so many fans supporting us and experiencing the daily hard work , that’s what matters most at this stage"
Despite the loss , Van Dijk emphasized Liverpool’s dominance at times during the first half:
"We created dangerous chances and had good control. There're still areas to improve , but there’s lot to be pleased with"
Final Tune Ups Before Competitive Action
With only 2 or 3 friendlies remaining before the Community Shield, Van Dijk stressed the need for focus:
"We've to keep pushing. We’re getting ready and we’ll go in full force"
