Midfielder suspended for World Cup qualifiers, free to prepare for Madrid’s October tests

France will be without Aurelien Tchouameni in their upcoming World cup qualifiers after the Real Madrid midfielder received 2 match ban for his red card against Iceland.

Tchouameni was sent off during France's recent win over Iceland in the UEFA qualifiers for the 2026 World cup.

UEFA’s disciplinary body confirmed he will miss both games in the October international break against Azerbaijan and return clash with Iceland.

Madrid benefit from enforced rest

Spanish outlet AS reported that the suspension may serve as blessing for Real Madrid as Tchouameni will remain in Spain to rest ahead of demanding October schedule.
