Tottenham suffer setback in pursuit of highly-rated Premier League star

Tottenham have already secured permanent moves for Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso after both impressed on their initial loan spells. The team has also signed Japanese youngster Kota Takai.

Reports out of TBR Football are that Tottenham's second bid of £55m has been rejected by West Ham. West Ham are looking in the region of around £65m.

Kudus has a release clause of £84m, but the Hammers are considering bids for less to help fund their own transfers.

Kudus had five goals and three assists in the Premier League this season. Kudus can play as an attacking midfielder or a winger, which is the versatility Tottenham are looking for.

In the 2023/24 season, the Ghanaian scored 18 goals and had 10 assists in all competitions.

Kudus would greatly strengthen the Tottenham attack. The London side qualified for the Champions League, but their attack needs to be better to compete.

Tottenham have Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke up top, but Richarlison and Son Heung-min have been linked with potential moves away from the club.

Kudus could play alongside James Maddison, and the two might make a lethal combination.
