I live in NYC, so I don't have much closet space. It's a bit ironic, seeing as I'm a shopping editor — I have nowhere to store my favorite finds! So I have to save space when I can; for instance, I pack away sweaters in the spring and summer, and pull them back out in the fall. That's why I'm always looking for items I can wear for more than a few months out of the year, and one such find is a maxi dress.
I can wear maxis with flats and a cardigan in the spring, flip-flops in the summer and booties and a denim jacket in the fall. Talk about a good investment, especially when you consider the cost per wear! Even better, investing doesn't actually have to mean spending all that much.
