Some big names have landed in Ligue 1 this summer.

Ligue 1 has introduced us to some exciting names this summer. Although the transfer window isn’t over yet, some players have already caught our eye.

Here’s a list of five players we can’t wait to see on Ligue 1 pitches this season.

1. Paul Pogba (Monaco)

Obviously, there’s no way we could overlook La Pioche. After not playing since September 2023 and being without a club since November 2024, he’s finally found a shirt to defend. It’s at Monaco that Paul Pogba will bring back to life the beautiful game of football.

We only want one thing: to see him play every weekend.

Now less than a year away from the World Cup, will Paul Pogba be able to win back his place in the French national team thanks to this season in Ligue 1?

2. Timothy Weah (OM)

Timothy Weah is the player who ticks all the boxes to get us hyped this season. First, he’s the son of George Weah, football legend and Ballon d’Or winner, so he’s got the pedigree that makes you dream. But he’s not just “the son of”: he has his own style, explosive and versatile.

Whether on the wing or up front, he can set a match alight with his speed and his fighting spirit on every ball. He’s arrived at OM with the desire to make his mark on Ligue 1 before the 2026 World Cup.

Between his name, his energy, and his determination to give everything for the shirt, he’s clearly one of the players we’ll be watching very closely.

3. Otavio (Paris FC)

Otávio, a young Brazilian central defender (23 years old), trained at Flamengo, spotted by Porto where he broke out before signing with Paris FC this summer for 5 years. What gets us hyped? He’s a solid defender (1.87 m), with tactical intelligence, great positioning, and a commanding physical presence.

He arrives at a key moment: Paris FC is back in Ligue 1 after 46 years, and Otávio could well become the pillar of their defense from the very start of the season.

4. Joaquin Panichelli (Strasbourg)

Joaquín Panichelli, 22 years old, is the Argentine striker arriving at Strasbourg after tearing it up in Spain’s second division: 21 goals and 8 assists in 44 matches last season. With his 1.90 m frame, power, and eye for goal, he brings a rare profile to Ligue 1.

A real bulldozer who could quickly become the fan favorite at the Meinau.

5. Lucas Chevalier (PSG)

Even though he’s already familiar with French pitches, Lucas Chevalier now has the chance to take a huge step forward. By joining the club that swept everything in Europe this season, the goalkeeper has to fill Gianluigi Donnarumma’s gloves. A big challenge for the young keeper we can’t wait to (re)discover.
