I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we're basically a week out from Father's Day, and some of this year's buzziest buys are already long gone. And while, yes, maybe you shouldn't have waited until the eleventh hour to shop for dear ol' Dad, I'm not one to harp on the shoulda, woulda, coulda. Nope, I'm here to help with last-minute Father's Day gifts that'll still arrive in time.
Just because you're too late in the game for personalized presents doesn't mean you have to settle for boring, half-baked ideas. As Yahoo's gifting editor, I've spent the last few months researching, testing and writing about this year's best Father's Day gifts, so let's just say that I know a good thing when I see it. From the Stanley beer stein (with a built-in bottle opener!) to a funky sock subscription, these last-minute gifts have all earned my stamp of approval.
Quality's one thing, but fast shipping is another. Most of these gift ideas are available from Amazon and will be delivered in two days or less with Prime (and many are under $50, I might add!). But if you wait too long to jump on those picks, I've included a few gift experiences and subscriptions that can be delivered to their email inbox in minutes.
In this guide, gift ideas are broken up into the following categories: Last-minute Father's Day gifts under $25 | Last-minute Father's Day gifts under $50 | Last-minute Father's Day gifts under $100
Dad will probably tell you that his golf skills are on par with Scottie Scheffler's. And while there's certainly a possibility that he has what it takes for the big leagues, I have no doubt that these silly socks paint a more accurate picture of his day on the green.
Your dad knows it all — or so he thinks. See how his smarts stack up in this family-friendly trivia game (ages 14 and up), where players lose points for each (and every) wrong answer.
When's the last time you told Dad how you really feel? Not a generic "I love you," but something a bit deeper? Now's your chance, because this book has a dozen prompted letters tucked inside that encourage you to reflect on your past, present and future with dear ol' Dad. Seal each letter with the included stickers and tell Dad to open them at a later date.
Sometimes, a problem solver is the best Father's Day gift you can give. Enter this set of gooseneck lights, which magnetically attach to any grill — Traeger, Weber, you name it — so Dad can actually see what he's cooking on the grates. He can set them up right away since each set comes with six AAA batteries — a rare feat in the gifting world!
Dad's always up to the challenge, but what about 365 of 'em? Each day, arrange the nine interlocking wooden pieces until the current date is shown. It's the ultimate brainteaser — and, ya know, a good test to see if he knows which day it is.
Dad loves you more than he loves football, which is really saying something. Go for the goal this Father's Day by giving him a look into the best — er, most memorable — plays in the last 100 years or so. Some stories will dig deeper into a moment he saw on TV or in the stands; others will be news to him.
Dad can use this little guy to prune trees, trim back branches or cut "small saplings like a hot knife through butter" (one Amazon shopper's words). Another reviewer boasted that "this little thing is a workhorse," adding that it's "easy to use, has a safety button and is fairly lightweight for the amount of power it has."
Everyone and their brother has a Stanley cup. A beer stein? Well, that's a different story. This beaut will keep his cold one, well, cold for up to eight hours, plus it has a stainless steel lid to lock in carbonation and a built-in bottle opener so he's never without one.
A shoulder rub is great and all, but it's no cure for all of Dad's aches and pains. This bad boy has eight rotating nodes that really get in there to work out knots in his neck, shoulders, upper back or anywhere else (reviewers use it on thighs and calves after intense workouts). Turn on the optional heat function for the full experience.
Dad's wisecracks are amateur at best, so give him this mug that'll help him step up his comedy game. All he has to do is scan the QR code while he brews his morning coffee and he'll get a new corny, cringey one-liner.
The next time he's out on the water, he can rest easy knowing his towels, electronics, and other valuables will stay nice and dry in this durable, watertight bag. It's more than just a dry bag: The insulated lining can keep food and drinks (up to 24 cans!) cool from morning to night.
Chocolates for Father's Day? It's not a traditional gift per se, but this limited-edition gift set, featuring six high-quality chocolate bars, is a match made for any rock 'n' roll fan. (It's a bold statement, but I won't back down.)
Actor Jeff Bridges loves 'em, and I'm sure your dad will, too. Senior Beauty Editor Jennifer Romolini's husband learned about the magic of these slides during an interview with the A-lister, who was wearing them at the time after recovering from surgery. "Bridges is right: They are, in fact, the most comfortable, stabilizing shoes I've ever owned, like having your feet ensconced in a bouncy, nurturing plastic cloud," she raved.
At what point do dads become birders? I'll never know, but what I do know is that smart bird feeders are one of the most sought-after Father's Day gifts yet again. This Amazon favorite takes hi-res photos and videos of his feathered friends as they make a pit stop, plus it uses AI recognition to identify the exact specifics. He'll get a notification on his phone or iPad when it happens, so he won't miss a single visit.
Dad is funny from his head to his toes. Speaking of toes (like what I did there, don't ya?), sign him up for this monthly sock subscription so they're appropriately dressed for even the silliest of occasions. Choose from a month-to-month plan or pay for a six-month subscription upfront — it comes to about $12 a pair.
It's about time that Dad does the dang thing — and by that, I mean check some destinations off of his bucket list. With this pass, he'll get free entry for himself and everyone else in their car at all U.S. national parks for a whole year from the month of purchase. If you're lucky, he'll let you tag along!
Why? Because one picture is never enough. Senior Tech Writer Rick Broida recently crowned this new(ish) release from Pexar as the best digital picture frame because it has "a bright, sharp screen, plenty of local storage and an affordable price." Send photos to this frame straight from your phone, iCloud or Google Photos before you give it to Dad — or wait until you give it to him on Sunday.
Perhaps the best Father's Day gift you can give is a listening ear. Each week, Storyworth will ask him to think back to past moments that shaped him, reflect on the present and make predictions about his future. His weekly writings and accompanying photos will be bound into a hardcover book when the year's up.
