Texas should be adding another member to its 2026 recruiting class soon.
Four-star offensive tackle John Turntine has set a commitment date for July 4 at 2:15 p.m. CT. The Fort Worth native will choose between Texas, Michigan, Texas A&M, and Stanford.
The Longhorns have a 95.9% chance of landing Turntine according to On3's recruiting prediction machine. He is ranked the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 4 overall prospect in Texas for the 2026 recruiting class.
Turntine is fresh off an official visit to Texas on June 20. He previously took official visits to Tennessee, Texas A&M, Stanford, and Michigan as well.

"Turntine projects as a high-major lineman with tackle athleticism but elite guard potential who could develop into a candidate for the top half of the draft down the road," said 247Sports recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks.
If Turntine commits to Texas he will become the third-highest ranked offensive player in the class behind only five-star quarterback Dia Bell and five-star athlete Jermaine Bishop (although Bishop is projected to play cornerback at the collegiate level).
The Longhorns currently hold the No. 12 class in the nation for the 2026 cycle and are trending for several other five-star prospects.
