Superior girls kick off golf season

SUPERIOR — Superior started the Wisconsin girls golf season with a fourth-place finish in an eight-team contest on its home course on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at Nemadji Golf Course.

Hudson took top honors with a team score of 327, nine shots better than second-place Spooner.

Superior finished with 379 led by a career-best 81 from junior Ellie Olson, who finished fifth overall. Two other Spartans also had career bests: Ellie Pierce with a 97 and Evie Jenkins with 100.

Senior captain Liv Prendergast completed the total with a 101.

Northwestern was sixth in the field with a team total of 408.
