The Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025 are somewhat tricky to get a proper read on, despite the addition of Aaron Rodgers.
Yes, the defense is still going to be one of the best in football, but as far as the offensive side? Yeah, there are so many question marks.
Can Rodgers not only stay healthy but also play to a level capable of getting Pittsburgh to the playoffs? He hasn’t played to that level in years, and with only D.K. Metcalf as his main receiving weapon, some aren’t sold on the Steelers this season.
But you better believe head coach Mike Tomlin is.
“We feel really good about the prospects of this group. We do,” Tomlin said. “We’ve got to write that story. We’ve got enough talent, we’ve got enough schematics to do big, big things. When I say big things, I’m talking about historic things.”
That is quite the statement, and as we know, Tomlin isn’t usually one to make such a big statement, and now the bullseye is on the Steelers’ back for 2025.
For us, Rodgers looms as the biggest wildcard piece, as he did for the New York Jets.
If he can somehow revert back to the player we saw in Green Bay, or close to it, then the Steelers will be in good shape, but he hasn’t been that guy for years. This is where the skepticism originates.
The Steelers will be must-watch in 2025, one for Rodgers, and the other to see if we can see these “historic” things Tomlin speaks of.
