Lakers star forward LeBron James has returned to Los Angeles, per medical recommendation, as he continues to progress well from a strained left groin, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Wednesday.

The Lakers have two games remaining on their current four-game road trip: a back-to-back Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks and Friday against the Denver Nuggets.

L.A. is 0-2 on the trip so far, losing on Saturday to the Boston Celtics, when James got hurt midway through the fourth quarter. They lost again Monday to the Brooklyn Nets when four rotation players -- James, Jaxson Hayes, Rui Hachimura and Dorian Finney-Smith -- all sat because of injuries.

Sources told ESPN that James' injury is expected to sideline him for one to two weeks.

Hayes (right knee contusion) and Hachimura (left patellar tendinopathy) are both out for the Bucks game, as well, the Lakers announced. Finney-Smith (ankle) is available to return.
