Social Media Reactions to Penn State vs. Villanova and More from Week 3

After a disheartening FIU performance, Penn State football came out of the gates firing against Villanova. A sleek, run-heavy drive got Nicholas Singleton in the end zone, and it felt like some of the major offensive concerns were in the rear-view. Fans reacted accordingly.

But the Nittany Lions didn’t score a touchdown on the next drive. Then they kicked a field goal. Then they punted again. Slowly, the doubts started to return, eventually creating a chorus of displeasure amongst the fanbase.

Then just when you think you’re out on Drew Allar, he pulls you right back in…

As the game went on, it was hard to know what to expect from the offense on a drive-by-drive basis. The final score ended up being lopsided, but a general uneasiness heading into Oregon still lingers.

So, we will have to just wait until September 27 to see what this team is made of. Around the country, likely to the enjoyment of Nittany Lions fans, other teams struggled. Notre Dame dropped to 0-2, Georgia flexed a little bit, and Clemson might just be straight-up bad.
