Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane has suffered three defeats in a row since his appointment as the new Matebele FC head coach this month.

The Kgatleng-based outfit succumbed to a narrow 1-0 defeat to TAFIC FC in the Botswana FNB Premiership on Sunday.

As a result, the club dropped to relegation places as they are currently in 15th place on the log standings, having picked up three points in six league outings.

Lestsholonyane was brought in to improve the club’s 12th place finish from the previous campaign under Sean Connor.

The ex-Bafana international penned a two-year deal with the Botswana outfit. The agreement has an option to extend for another year.

Meanwhile, Yeye’s counterpart, Owen Da Gama, is also battling relegation as his Black Lions team drew 1-1 with BDF XI on the same day.

Lions, who purchased the professional status of VTM, occupy position 14 in the Botswana topflight, with four points picked up.

The two South African mentors will be determined to win their next matches as Letsholonyane’s side will host Mochudi Center Chiefs on Friday, while Da Gama’s team welcome Extension Gunners on Saturday.
