Paige Bueckers wins WNBA Rookie of the Year award after surprise announcement from Cathy Engelbert

Paige Bueckers proved she was a star in her rookie season. After being selected by the Dallas Wings with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, Bueckers averaged 19.2 points per game and earned an All-Star nod.

That performance earned Bueckers the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award Tuesday. While that news was expected, Bueckers found out about her win in a surprising way.

WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert surprised Bueckers before her appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show" on Tuesday.
