Packers insider warns $17M rookie's breakout game is on the horizon after unexpected slow start

The Green Bay Packers are off to an amazing start, and much of the credit goes to the defense. However, the offense is looking good too, and perhaps QB Jordan Love has heard the noise about the season riding on him.

“It’s Jordan Love time. Only one offensive player on the roster (two-time Pro Bowl guard Elgton Jenkins), and three players in total, predate the quarterback’s time with the team. He’s on a top-of-market deal, so the onus is on him to start lifting his teammates rather than the other way around. The roster’s still solid, but competitions at left tackle and receiver will help set the course for how far the team can go, and Love’s work through any bumps at those spots will be key,” SI’s Albert Breer wrote.

Also, the Packers picked an exciting rookie in the first round of the NFL Draft last April. He has yet to have a breakout game, but that is expected to happen very soon.

“The breakout game is coming. You know Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love see it on tape too,” Packers Wire’s Zach Kruse wrote.

Golden just hasn’t found his footing yet, which is common with rookies. Things are going to get better for him, especially as he begins to treat some things like a veteran.

“Golden added that he engages in conversation with the defensive backs after plays, looking for feedback on what they think he might've done better. Sometimes it's part of the smack talk right after a competitive rep, others it's later, off to the side,” Packers.com’s Mike Spofford wrote.

Golden is special, and that is very apparent. A promising breakout game is on the horizon. Whether it will be this week in Cleveland remains to be seen, but there is a good possibility it could happen.

The rookie and Love already have a connection, but it hasn’t been showcased quite yet. However, Golden is starting to figure it all out, so the rookie is about to go nuclear.
