The Green Bay Packers got off to a 2-0 start this season and look like a real Super Bowl contender as the season continues to progress. However, they suffered an ugly loss on Sunday on the road against the Cleveland Browns. The timing couldn’t be worse, especially after Packers offensive tackle Rasheed Walker made a blunt statement earlier in the week.
“I think we can go undefeated. ... Pound for pound, I look at these teams and I don't really see who is better than us, honestly,” Walker told the media.
That confident comment lasted only a few days before the Browns hit a last-second field goal to win the game. Recently acquired Micah Parsons was vocal about backing his teammate.
“To the people, he probably shouldn't say it," Parsons stated. "But personally, I don't see anything wrong with what he said. They always say you should share your dreams in private because people won't understand ‘em.”
Parsons is doing a great job of being a supportive teammate in such a short time with the Packers. However, that doesn’t mean head coach Matt LaFleur is on the same page. During his Monday press conference, LaFleur didn’t hold back on Walker and sent a message to the entire team in the same vein.
“The goal — and I’ve said it a million times to you guys, obviously not enough to our team — the goal is to go 1-0 every week. It pisses me off when we start talking about things outside of the next game, things that are way down the road,” LaFleur said.

LaFleur’s remarks suggest some frustration may have boiled over from Sunday’s loss. It could also reflect the way the Packers have been portrayed on social media following the game.
Nonetheless, a clear message has been sent to the locker room: from here on out, no one is going to jump the gun during any interviews.
