Oilers Given Head-Scratching 2026 Stanley Cup Odds

The Edmonton Oilers are coming off two straight losses in the Stanley Cup Final, but despite this, the team has been given solid odds to get back. Edmonton is retaining a similar core for next season, but something needs to change if they want to win.

According to DraftKings, the Oilers are tied for the second-best odds of winning the Stanley Cup in 2026. The only team that is ahead of them is the Florida Panthers, the squad that took them down both years.

Edmonton is coming in at +850, which is tied with the Carolina Hurricanes. But Carolina being tied with them is interesting.

The Hurricanes have made some major moves this offseason, giving them more credibility for a Stanley Cup run. But it seems that the oddsmakers are giving the Oilers the benefit of the doubt due to the success that they've seen over the last few years.

The Oilers still have Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl leading the charge, but there could be other teams with better chances. Edmonton still has a problem with inconsistent goalie play, and the team needs to upgrade.

Stuart Skinner was solid for this team, but his inconsistency hurt the Oilers when it mattered most. The front office also hasn't upgraded the roster very much, and they lost veteran Corey Perry to the rival Los Angeles Kings.

There is still plenty of time for the Oilers to improve the roster, but for them to have his high of odds is a little shocking. Only time will tell, but the clock is ticking in Edmonton, especially with McDavid entering the final year of his current contract.
