Meret extends Napoli contract – official statement

“Napoli announce the contract extension of goalkeeper Alex Meret until June 30, 2027,” Napoli said in a statement on Friday.
“Meret made his debut with the Azzurri on December 8, 2018, in a 4-0 home win against Frosinone. He has made 212 appearances for Napoli, keeping a clean sheet on 68 occasions.
“Wearing the Napoli shirt, Meret has won two Serie A titles, in the 2022-23 and 2024-25 campaigns, and one Coppa Italia in 2019-20.”
Napoli added that no goalkeeper in Europe’s top five leagues kept more clean sheets than Meret in the 2024-25 season, when the 28-year-old also matched his best-ever tally in a Serie A campaign, avoiding conceding in 16 matches, just as he did in the 2022-23 season.
