Notre Dame releases football-specific logo ahead of 2025 season

Notre Dame has one of the more classic looks in all of college football. However, ahead of this season, the Fighting Irish are releasing an additional one, starting with the one for their football program.

On Thursday, Notre Dame announced the unveiling of new sports-specific leprechaun logos across their athletic department. That started this morning with their one for football, with the leprechaun toting the ball being the look, as it’s already now available for sale from up in South Bend.

Notre Dame is rolling out sports-specific Leprechaun logos this season, per a press release from the university. Here’s the one for football, designed by Fighting Irish Media.

“The University of Notre Dame Athletics Department has unveiled the first in a series of sports-specific leprechaun marks. As the 2025 Notre Dame Football season begins later this month, the athletic department has released the Football Leprechaun mark that will be followed by more sport-specific marks representing each unique sport in which the Fighting Irish compete at the varsity level,” read this morning’s release from Notre Dame. “The new mark was designed in-house by Fighting Irish Media, with input from the many around our athletic programs and inspired by photo, fundamentals and running styles from former and current student-athletes.”

“There will be more team-specific marks released during the 2025-26 school year and in the future athletic seasons to come,” it continued. “The Notre Dame Football Leprechaun mark will be seen on the Irish sidelines this season and in the future. In partnership with Under Armour, new Fighting Irish athletic attire will feature the leprechaun this season and is available now.”
