At MorumBIS, with over 50,000 spectators, Vasco HUMILIATED Santos on this Sunday (17), with a historic thrashing of 6 x 0, in a match for the 20th round of the Brasileirão 2025.

In the first half, after Peixe started better, the Giant of the Hill opened the score when Nuno Moreira crossed from the right, and Lucas Piton (18') appeared at the second post like a striker to head the ball.

The VAR was activated to check if the ball had gone out over the sideline at the beginning of the play, but the goal was validated.

Santos had a penalty marked in their favor for a foul by Paulo Henrique on Guilherme, but, after a VAR review, the attacker was ruled offside on the play.

But, after the break, the Vasco show and the Santos nightmare began.

In a span of 10 minutes, David (6') took a first-time shot in the box and extended the lead, Coutinho completed a lethal counter-attack, Rayan converted a penalty, Coutinho (16') played a one-two with DVD and chipped the ball to score the fifth.

Without wasting time, six minutes later, Tchê Tchê played a one-two with David and also entered the box alone to chip the ball and score the sixth.

A large part of the Santos crowd massively left MorumBIS.

Those who stayed, after cheering ole for Vasco and shouting "shameless team", turned their backs to the field.

The 6 x 0 is the biggest thrashing in the 98-year history of the confrontation. Previously, each one had made 5 x 1 on the opponent.

Vasco had not won in the Brasileirão since June 12 (five rounds ago), when they made 3 x 1 on São Paulo, at MorumBIS itself.

Santos, on the other hand, had NEVER lost by more than four goals difference as home team in the Brasileirão.

After the final whistle, Neymar cried copiously as he left the field and in the arms of coach Fernando Dinz, Vasco's coach, but who commanded the number 10 in the Brazilian National Team.

🚦 How it stands

After the rout, Vasco reached 19 points and left the Z-4, jumping to the 16th place.

Santos, on the other hand, stayed with 21 points and fell to the 15th position.

The Giant of the Hill returns to the field next Wednesday (20), when they visit Juventude, in a postponed match.

Peixe, on the other hand, visits Bahia, on Sunday (24), for the 21st round.
