Three people who hijacked a delivery vehicle in Browns Farm, Philippi, on Thursday, were gunned down moments later at an intersection.
According to Western Cape police spokesperson, Colonel Andrè Traut, the three people attacked two men at gunpoint before forcing them into the back of the delivery vehicle they had been driving, and speeding off.
“As the vehicle approached the intersection of Sheffield and Monwood Roads, it came under gunfire from unknown assailants. The shooting resulted in the deaths of three of the alleged hijackers. Their identities and ages are yet to be confirmed,” said Traut.
