New date, locations for Maine high school track championships

Two of the three meets, postponed from Saturday to Tuesday because of the weather forecast, have moved to different parts of the state.

The Class A, B and C state championship track and field meets scheduled for Saturday have been postponed because of a forecast of thunderstorms throughout the day.

The Maine Principals’ Association announced in a news release Friday that the three meets will be held Tuesday, with two of those meets in new locations.

The Class A meet has been moved from Brewer Community School to Lewiston High School and will start at 2 p.m.

The Class B championships were slated for Freeport High, but now will be at Mount Desert Island High in Bar Harbor, also at 2 p.m.

The Class C meet remains at Messalonskee High in Oakland and will start at 3 p.m.
