NBA Fans React to 76ers' Schedule Featuring 16 Back-to-Back Games

Aug 14, 2025 11:01 PM EDT

The NBA has released the schedule for all 30 teams. Fans discovered that the Philadelphia 76ers are one of the teams with the most back-to-back games after looking at their schedule. The 76ers have 16 back-to-back games, along with the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards.

Having to play games on consecutive days isn’t something that players look forward to in every season. Most opt to sit out, as it contributes to fatigue. For the 76ers, the concern has a lot to do with the availability of star player Joel Embiid.

Last season, Embiid’s knee issues sidelined him by late February, limiting him to 19 games. The 2023 MVP and Philadelphia are focused on addressing his health this summer.

But with the looming 16 back-to-back games, fans think it could be a serious problem for the star player.

Fans React to Embiid’s Availability Next Season

Since the start of Embiid’s NBA career, availability has been an issue for the center. He missed his first two seasons due to the injuries has sustained. Following that, he’s always had limited time being on the court.

The most games he’s played in a single season is 68, which was during the 2021-22 season. Since he only participated in 66 games, Embiid nearly missed the 65-game minimum even after winning MVP.

Fans couldn’t help but notice the irony of the 76ers having the most back-to-back games with Embiid still dealing with injuries.

“That’s 16 extra days off for Embiid,” a fan said.

“The 76ers are cooked,” one fan wrote.

“Season already over lmao,” a comment read.

“And Joel Embiid will play in 0 of them,” another fan predicted.

“Embiid already can’t qualify for awards lol,” another said.

“NBA Schedulers hate Joel Embiid 🤣🤣🤣” someone commented.

Embiid has struggled with availability, only appearing in 452 games. He has also missed 450 games throughout his career.
