Nation's No. 2 RB Commits to SEC Powerhouse

The Alabama Crimson Tide picked up a big commitment on Thursday evening.

Four-star running back Ezavier Crowell committed to the Tide over other top SEC teams, including the Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, and Texas Longhorns. Crowell goes to Jackson High School in Alabama and will stay home for his collegiate career.

Crowell is the third-best recruit in his home state and the second-best running back recruit in the nation, per 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 33 overall recruit, regardless of position.

The Tide are up to 11 commitments in their 2026 class and have the No. 20 class in the nation, per 247Sports. Crowell is their third-highest recruit thus far.

Crowell's commitment comes three days after the Tide secured two flips. Three-star running back Javari Bennett flipped his commitment from the Illinois Fighting Illini to the Tide, and three-star Rihyael Kelley flipped his commitment from the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

This is a popular time for college football recruiting since a lot of recruits are out of school and have finished their official visits to schools.

The 2025 college football season is set to start in late August, and the Tide will play their first game on the road against the Florida State Seminoles. The Tide are coming off a 9-4 season in 2024 and want to get back to the College Football Playoff this upcoming season.

This will be Kalen DeBoer's second season as head coach after he took over for Nick Saban before the 2024 season.
