In my opinion, any body is a bikini body. But if you prefer more modest swimwear, swim dresses are gaining popularity on social media, particularly among moms on TikTok. While scrolling the other day, I came across one woman asking other moms, "What are we wearing to the splash pad?" So many moms said a swim dress — and a lot specifically recommended Old Navy's Side-Tie Swim Dress. Upon further investigation, I found that the style is also great for wearing to the pool, beach, waterpark or just on a really hot day when you're sweltering in your own backyard.
This popular swim dress has over 1,000 five-star reviews. One shopper said they "love this bathing suit. Some swim dresses can look matronly, but this one is just cute."
Another said: "I feel SO BEAUTIFUL in this swimsuit. I literally want to wear it out and about. I haven't felt good in a swimsuit in years, I want it in every color!"
The thing is, this swim dress has become so popular that it's sold out a few times, and while it's been restocked, it's currently sold out in most sizes and colors. The plain black version is the only one that's currently available in all sizes. And I get why women love it so much — it's super flattering, comfortable and covers all the right places. It has an on-trend square neckline, a faux wrap skirt that ties at the side, removable cups and elastic at the waist. I want one!
But if you have enough black swimsuits and don't want to wait until other colors are back in stock, I did some digging and found some more swim dress options that have fun patterns and a slimming silhouette. Lands' End makes a lot of great swim dresses, including this beauty. This one doesn't just have a faux wrap skirt — it's a full faux wrap dress! It comes in regular, petite and long torso sizes, as well as multiple cup sizes. Oh yeah, and there are over 10 prints to choose from.
"I have never had a bathing suit fit me so well and look so good! Loved the pattern and color of the blue, yellow and white. I purchased other colors!" said a reviewer.
This fun and flirty sun dress comes from Reese Witherspoon's brand, Draper James. It has a pretty floral print, ruffled straps and wrap skirt with a side tie. It also has removable cups (for women up to a size DD) and adjustable straps for a comfy fit.
There aren't any reviews yet for this one, but it's on the newer side, so I'm betting it's going to be popular by the month's end.
This smoothing swim dress has ruching from side to side across the torso to hide any lumps and bumps. Actually, it just looks like a cute mini dress! You could probably wear this one from the beach to the beachside restaurant for lunch without changing.
