Mohamed Salah stat highlights Premier League greatness

Mohamed Salah might not have been at his best so far this season but the Liverpool winger remains a difference-maker.

Salah slammed home an ice-cold penalty deep into stoppage time to earn Liverpool a 1-0 win at Burnley on Sunday. The goal was Salah’s 188th in the Premier League, moving him above Andy Cole as the outright fourth-highest scorer in the league’s history.

Only Alan Shearer, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney have ever netted more than the Egyptian, who is closing in on joining that trio in the 200-club.

Salah has also recorded 88 assists in the Premier League to climb into the all-time top 10 goal providers.

His return of 276 goal involvements in the Premier League means the 33-year-old has now managed as many goals and assists in the division as Cristiano Ronaldo (140) and Eden Hazard (136) combined.

Arguments persist of who of that trio belong in an all-time Premier League best XI, but the numbers are certainly stacked in Salah’s favour.
