Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action will continue on Sunday with the New York Giants visiting Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East showdown at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

The Cowboys couldn’t quite pull off a statement win against the defending Super Bowl champions in Week 1, falling to the Eagles in a 24-20 loss last Thursday. Veteran running back Miles Sanders made his debut for the franchise in the contest and it was a mixed bag.

Below, we’ll go over Sanders’ outlook in fantasy football for Week 2.

Fantasy Football analysis: Cowboys RB Miles Sanders

Sanders registered four carries for 53 rushing yards last Thursday, but those numbers are deceptive upon initially glance. The vast majority of it came on an explosive 49-yard run that put the Cowboys deep into Eagles territory, only for him to squander it with a fumble just a few plays later.

Backing up starter Javonte Williams, Sanders only got 11 snaps for the entire game and was a virtual non-factor outside of the aforementioned drive in the third quarter. The lack of a consistent run game could be a major problem for the Dallas offense this season and so far, it doesn’t appear that the veteran backup will provide meaningful help. We’ll see if that changes against New York on Sunday.
