French star Kylian Mbappé was quick to start stealing the spotlight with the arrival of their favorite tournament. The Champions League returned for the new 2025-26 season, and from the first match against Olympique de Marseille, the French star was able to extend his scoring record for the 2025 calendar year.
The Frenchman's two goals against Olympique de Marseille at the Bernabéu were his 39th and 40th of the year, making him the first player this year to reach this figure, and by a significant margin over the second-placed finisher on this year's list.
Currently in the Champions League, the tournament's all-time top scorer is Cristiano Ronaldo with 140 goals in 183 appearances for all the clubs he has worn. Kylian Mbappé currently sits in sixth place with 57 goals in 88 appearances since starting his journey from Monaco to Real Madrid.
