BOSTON — The Celtics will be shorthanded for the third straight game as Jrue Holiday continues to sit because of his right hamstring strain. He was listed as out on the injury report released ahead of Game 5, set for 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at TD Garden.

Holiday last played in Game 2 of the first-round series, seeing 36 minutes in the victory. That’s when he hurt his hamstring as he hasn’t played since. He was originally questionable ahead of Game 3 in Orlando before being downgraded to out. Ahead of both Game 4 and 5, Holiday started as out on the injury report.

“Jrue’s doing everything he can to come back,” C’s coach Joe Mazzulla said ahead of Game 5. “He’s day-to-day. He’s doing everything he can to put himself in a position to be able to get better the next day.”

The Celtics currently have a 3-1 series lead as they have a chance to close out the Magic in Game 5. That’ll be crucial considering Holiday isn’t the only one dealing with an injury. Jayson Tatum (wrist) and Jaylen Brown (knee) have continued to play through their respective issues through the series. So getting them some rest ahead of the second round and potentially beyond will be important.

The Celtics beat the Magic in what ended up being a close finish in Game 4. While the C’s pulled away at the end, the Magic tied it up with roughly four minutes left to go. In the two games at the Garden this series, the Celtics have downed the Magic both times as the champs look to go to the second round.
