Is Brock Bowers playing this week? Latest injury update on Raiders star for Week 2

The status of Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers has been up in the air during the week after the star tight end tweaked his knee in Week 1.

Bowers suffered the injury in the second half of the win over the New England Patriots. He didn't practice at all on Thursday and Friday but was upgraded to a limited session on Saturday.

As a result, Bowers has drawn the questionable tag, which means there's a chance he doesn't play on Monday night. However, based on a comment from head coach Pete Carrol, there's plenty of reason to believe Bowers is going to suit up.

Here's what we know.

Is Brock Bowers playing in Week 2?

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Carroll told reporters that he expects Bowers to play in Week 2, while also noting that Bowers "looked terrific" in practice on Saturday.

Bowers didn't commit to playing when addressing the media after practice, but said that he "felt fine" while wearing a knee brace.

"I felt fine," Bowers said, per ESPN's Paul Gutierrez. "The knee brace was a little different but it was good to get out there with the guys."

Bowers' chances of playing are increased by the fact that he gets an extra day to get right this week, as the Raiders don't suit up until Monday night against the Los Angeles Chargers.

That also leaves fantasy football owners in dangerous territory. If things change and Bowers is ultimately inactive, there will be very limited options to replace him.

In that scenario, fantasy managers' best bet will be to deploy fellow Raiders tight end Michael Mayer, who would step in as Las Vegas' TE1 if Bowers is out.

Granted, Mayer isn't anywhere near as good of a pass-catcher as Bowers, but he's still a solid playmaker and will have an increased role, which is about all you can ask for in a last-second situation.
