Ime Udoka Sends 2-Word Response to Steph Curry Accusation Following Warriors-Rockets

The Houston Rockets entered Game 5 against the Golden State Warriors trailing 3-1, on the brink of elimination. The Rockets came to play on Wednesday night, at home, staving off a first-round playoff exit, taking down the Warriors 131-116.

This heated, competitive series will head back to San Francisco for Game 6 inside Chase Center where the Rockets will once again face elimination.

The Rockets started the game with an intense energy, jumping out to a 76-49 lead at halftime. Steve Kerr decided to essentially throw in the towel on Game 5, pulling his starting lineup during the third quarter.

Prior to Stephen Curry and the rest of the Warriors starters seeing an early end to their night, the physicality got ramped up, specifically against Curry.

While closing out on a Curry 3-point attempt, Dillon Brooks seemed to swipe down on Curry's right hand, catching the attention of play-by-play announcer, Bob Fitzgerald.

"This happened in Game 4 a couple times," Fitzgerald said. "They are targeting Curry's thumb. The whack on the right hand, that happened multiple times. They know he's been injured there."

During Rockets head coach, Ime Udoka's postgame press conference, he was asked how he would respond to this accusation from the Warriors' broadcast.

Udoka sent an extremely clear, two-word response.

"Ime, one of the Warriors broadcasters tonight accused Dillon Brooks of intentionally swiping at Steph Curry's [injured] right thumb. How would you respond to that?" a reporter asked.

"I wouldn't," responded Udoka.

Udoka appears uninterested in acknowledging, or responding, to such an accusation.

While Brooks has a history of being a known irritant, occasionally utilizing physicality to get under his opponent's skin, intentionally injuring another player doesn't seem to be one of the things the Rockets organization is willing to entertain.

Tempers would continue to rise in the second half when the Warriors bench made a comeback, cutting the lead to as little as 13 points. Warriors guard, Cam Spencer would be ejected in the fourth quarter for headbutting Rockets center, Alperen Sengun.

The NBA world will watch closely to see if Curry's injured right thumb is impacted when Game 6 tips off on Friday.
