I'm in the thick of wedding season, and while I love attending my friends' nuptials, it's been torture for my hair. I've been constantly heat styling it (my go-to look is flat-iron curls) and after a few back-to-back weddings and related events, my hair was definitely worse for wear.
I have really long hair, and I typically do a good job maintaining my mane, but I knew I had to step up my game when my ends started to get tangled and felt especially brittle. Luckily, since I've been testing hair-care products for years as a shopping editor (and spotted this new launch right away), I knew just what to try: Briogeo's brand-new hydrating hair mask.

This hair mask is seriously hydrating. Apply it evenly to wet hair, leave it on for five minutes and then rinse it away to reveal deeply nourished locks that shine.
Last month, Briogeo debuted its Superfoods Lightweight Hydration Hair Mask, and I had high expectations. Meant to deeply hydrate hair without weighing it down, it sounded like just the formula I needed; while I have a lot of hair, my strands are on the thinner side, so too much of almost any product can make me lose volume. The mask is packed with good-for-hair ingredients like acai extract and passionfruit oil, both of which add shine and moisture, and a niacinamide complex that works to deeply nourish and soften strands.
The formula is 96% naturally derived, meaning its ingredients are sourced primarily from nature but have undergone some processing or modification. It's also vegan and free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates and more. But this mask also has the clinical claims to back it up. According to Briogeo, it's proven to leave you with softer, smoother and more manageable hair in just five minutes. And after using it to help revive my flat-iron-fried hair, I totally get it.
Per the brand's recommendation, I worked a dollop of the fruity-smelling mask into my wet hair, from my mid-lengths to the ends, after shampooing and let it sit for five minutes. After I thoroughly rinsed, I could immediately feel that my hair was smoother and my ends felt less brittle. It was also incredibly easy to comb through (no knots!) and looked so much healthier when it was dry.
I also love how easy it is to incorporate this mask into my usual hair-care routine: Briogeo suggests using the mask once a week in place of your regular conditioner. Plus, I appreciate that you don't have to let the mask sit for 20 minutes or overnight to see results — five minutes was all it took.

Unsurprisingly, I am not the only fan of this new hair mask.
One five-star customer said that the mask "left my bleached hair feeling soft" and added, "[The mask] smells so clean and fruity, didn't leave my fine hair feeling grimey at all after rinsing it out and the smell isn't too overwhelming."
Raved another happy shopper: "I cannot get over how delicious this hair mask smells! It's literally like a big bowl of berries. My wavy hair is a mix of fine and thicker strands, and very dense, so sometimes masks for thicker hair are too heavy, and masks for finer hair don't moisturize enough. This one is the perfect in-between. It made my hair very easy to detangle in the shower, and it was super shiny after air drying."
A final fan shared: "I really, really love this. My hair feels so soft! I love that I can use this as a mask or as a conditioner once in a while. It also smells amazing! After showering and drying my hair, it still smells so good. My coworkers and friends thought it was my perfume."
While the mask's scent is a winner for most users, others find it overpowering. If you're sensitive to fragrances, you may want to skip this product for something milder or unscented.
Not only does this hair mask give your mane the TLC it deserves, but it also smells amazing. It has notes of tart berry and fresh greens for an overall tropical-inspired scent.
